The School District of Osceola County has selected RosenCare, owned and operated by Harris Rosen, Florida’s largest independent hotelier, as its 2020 Business Partner of the Year and Commissioner’s Business Recognition Awards nominee at the state level.

Since October 1, 2019, RosenCare has been the administrator for the Osceola School District Center for Employee Health, providing comprehensive medical services to approximately 9,000 of the school district’s teachers, staff, administrators, and dependents who have enrolled in the county’s healthcare plan. This first-of-its-kind partnership was born out of the Osceola County School Board’s goal of reducing overall healthcare and out-of-pocket costs for employees, and also from Harris Rosen’s commitment to supporting education and children.

With RosenCare, member services have shifted from urgent care to responsible health management focusing on the whole person. The health center offers top-quality primary care services, as well as physical therapy, medical nutrition therapy, mental health counseling, on-site prescription dispensing, X-rays, vaccinations, chiropractic care, and mammograms to school district employees and their dependents on the plan.

Recently, the health center program was expanded offering a televisit platform for convenience and a satellite site opened in Poinciana to provide additional accessibility for healthcare services. Working together, the expectation is that caring for patients during intervention stages will result in fewer chronic conditions, shorter hospital stays, and lower claims costs.

“Having convenient, comprehensive medical services, thanks to our incredible partnership with RosenCare, offers peace of mind to employees, allowing them to focus on the incredible work of educating our next generation,” said Superintendent Dr. Debra Pace.

“We are incredibly honored to receive this recognition and to be a partner with the Osceola County School District,” said Harris Rosen, who in 1991 created his own self-funded healthcare program for his company Rosen Hotels & Resorts, which has essentially become the RosenCare model. “As always, our goal is to provide the very best possible healthcare for the county’s valuable employees while simultaneously reducing costs on an annual basis.”
